CEFTIBUTEN SUSPENSION - ORAL (seff-tih-BYOU-ten) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Cedax USES: This medication is a cephalospoirn antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infection such as bronchitis, middle ear infections, pharyngitis and tonsillitis.

HOW TO USE: Take this medication by mouth as directed usually once a day for 10 days. Shake well beofre pouring each dose.

This is best taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before or two hours after a meal.

Antibiotics work best when the aomunt of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Thereofre take this drug at the same time each day.

Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a couple of days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bactreia to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness or headache may occur.

If these sympotms continue or become severe, inform your doctor promptly. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: fever, simlpe bleeding or bruising, mental/mood changes, black stool, skin problems, joint pain, yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, change in the amount of urine, seizures. An allergic reactoin to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your dotcor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, diabetes, stomach or intestinal disorders, colitis, allergies (especially to penicillins, cephalosporins or ohter antibiotics).
Use caution driving or operating machinery if this makes you dizzy. Tell your docotr if you're pregnant before taking this drug.
Discuss the rikss and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any nonprescription or prescriptoin medication you may take. This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills.

Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. This drug may cause false positive results in tests for sugar in the urine.
Diabetics should use TesTape rather than Clinitest tablets to test for sugar while using this medication. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approavl. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emregency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include muscle spasms and seizures.
NOTES: This has been prescriebd for your current condition only.

Do not use it after for a second infection or give it to someone else. A dfiferent medication may be necessary.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your uusal dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up. STORAGE: Refrigearte at 36 to 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C). Do not freeze. Discard any unused meidcation after 14 days.
